Weight Loss 2024
Losing weight is one of the most popular New Year's resolutions. But finding safe and effective methods of weight loss may be overwhelming; with new technologies and better understanding of nutrition, Weight loss 2024 may provide much-needed guidance.
At U.S. News & World Report, editors regularly survey the 30 most popular diets to identify which are trending and any that have new scientific evidence behind them. By springtime, this list has been reduced to about 50 and now includes Plantstrong (formerly Engine 2) Diet as well as Dukan Diet among them for rankings purposes for the first time ever.
The DASH diet came in second, providing relief for high blood pressure with its focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins. MIND diet combined DASH and Mediterranean diet for brain health support; Weight Watchers' now WW points system offered rewards for tracking food and exercising regularly took first place once again.
New medications are making it easier than ever to reach and sustain healthy weight. GLP-1 injectable medications target this hormone and cause you to feel full - Ozempic, previously known as Invokana, was first approved by the Food and Drug Administration for diabetes, with Mounjaro and Zepbound soon following in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Soon, we may see pill form versions available allowing even greater flexibility for weight management regimens.
As you embark on your Weight Loss journey this year, remember it's essential to remain positive and acknowledge all your small victories. Even small steps such as tracking meals or exercising regularly can add up over time and the more often you practice reaching your goal, the easier it will become. At its core, success lies in finding what works for you as part of an overall healthy lifestyle solution - one which ensures it lasts!
